The Post-Election Church
Donald Trump won the presidency with help from an overwhelming number of self-professed Christians. Eight in ten Evangelicals voted for him, while he also increased his share of the vote among Catholics and other Protestants. Dr. Jason Shelton, Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for African American Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington, helps us understand why Trump is so popular with religious voters. Shelton is the author of The Contemporary Black Church: The New Dynamics of African American Religion.
